Wheelock is a small town located in the heart of Caledonia County. The town is bordered by many other towns such as Lyndon, Danville, and Sheffield among others. This small town has a population of 621 people sprawling across over 25,000 acres. The town was named after Dartmouth College founder, Eleazor Wheelock and was chartered in 1785. A connection to prestigious Dartmouth College can be found in this town, being that any undergraduate student from Wheelock who attends the school receives free tuition. Wheelock is also the only town to be chartered by an organization wholly out of the state of Vermont.
